Q&A with Dr. Jason Kim, MD

Q: What made you decide to pursue your specialty?

A: I pursued this specialty because urinary incontinence is a disabling condition that many patients are too embarrassed to seek help for. And, there is a paucity of physicians who treat this condition despite up to 50% of female suffering from urinary leakage.

A: It is estimated that 25% of adults suffer from pelvic floor issues including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, or recurrent UTIs. Too many patients are embarrassed to seek care for these often personal issues and may limit social activities, travel, or personal interactions due to these issues. There is no need to live with these issues, as we offer expertise in these areas. After full evaluation, we can tailor a treatment plan depending on a patient's goals. We offer behavioral therapies, pharmacotherapy, in-office procedures, or surgery to correct these issues.
