I am a female white senior citizen and have had many doctors in my lifetime. Because of two bad experiences with male doctors in my younger years, I always choose female doctors now, but I have never had an African American doctor. Speaking honestly, I'm ashamed to say I was not sure whether I would be comfortable with her. She was very comfortable to be with, was totally competent in every way, and seemed sincerely interested in my health and wellbeing. I felt respected and cared for by her. She is my favorite of my five last general practitioners.
