Dr. Sonia Rapaport, MD

Intelligent. Detail-Oriented. Good Listener. Methodical. Patient. Gentle. These are the words I would use to describe Dr. Rapaport. After being in great health for the first 30 years of my life, something went terribly wrong. It seemed every subsystem of my body started shutting down. I developed chronic fatigue, had strange pains all over, got sick with little viruses repeatedly, had trouble digesting food, developed brain fog, and slowly lost the ability to do almost everything I enjoyed. I went to so many doctors, and we played symptom whack-a-mole for years, but I just got worse. I was nearing the end of my rope. But then a friend told me about Dr. Rapaport. In 4 months, she had peeled back the layers of the onion, 1-by-1, methodically fixing the problems. And she gave me so many incredible books to study about how to care for myself going forward. She gave my wife her husband back. She gave our kids their daddy back. In our book, she is the best doctor in the whole world.

Dr. Rapaport listens to me, watches me--expressions, movements--and ponders (with her teeth on her bottom lip), concentrating. She checks ideas online and suggests support supplements or least invasive medicines and treatments, dosed for me. She can take a simple or complex approach, using time-tried or new techniques. All is explained in paragraphs of her final notes to me.

When I first found Haven Medical, I had been going downhill quickly, wasting away to nothing and no amount of doctors I saw could help - and I had seen a lot! Haven Medical was able to begin to help me find the problems and provide solutions. Although I will suffer with chronic health issues for the remainder of my life, I am in a better place today because of the care I received at Haven Medical.

I started seeing Dr Rapaport a year ago after many years of misdiagnoses and failed treatment attempts. She has done a thorough work up on me and started my treatment, understanding how sensitive I am to treatment. She not only has a good background in my health journey, but she spends a lot of time investing in how I am doing along the way. I love how she gets back to me promptly with her suggestions and treatments. This gives me confidence and makes me feel that precious time is not being wasted until my next appointment with her. The office staff is also super helpful and I have the utmost confidence in their abilities. I am improving every day and am so grateful that I found Dr Rapaport and her team!

Before I met with Dr. Rapaport, my 4 year old was at rock bottom. He had been in severe pain nonstop for almost 2 months, and could barely eat anything at all. Countless trip to the ER, gastroenterologist, pediatricians, and urgent cares resulted in the same line, “we can’t find anything wrong.” Dr. Rapaport not only found out what was wrong, but she enabled my son to heal tremendously in just 6 months. We are so thankful we found her, and we don’t know where we’d be right now without her help.

You have access in between appointments for any concern. You feel like you have a hand to hold you along the way.
