I have PLS, 1st misdiagnosed as ALS in 2002. I came to the ALS Clinic because of Pseudobulbar Affect. No doctors knew about it and it was ruining my professional life. Based on a new drug Dr. B. was developing my PBA has disappeared. I lost my speech and with his referral to Duke's Pain Management Clinic I was placed on a Baclofen Pump. My speech is normal and my diaphragm strength has increased drastically. Tha ALS Clinic staff is wonderful, knowledgeable, and most importantly capable. In 2 days I go back for a Physical Therapy Assessment for a Bioness 300. I am always offered cutting edge opportunities of genetic, technological, pharmaceutical and medical treatments.
