The staff is rude and combative when questioned about insurance issues. They say they don't take one of my two insurance plans, yet it is listed here that Dr Omar accepts ALL of the two plans I carry. My co-payment was supposed to be $25 and on the first visit they charged me $40.00. At that point I informed the rude staff that I will not pay another $25 for a follow-up, which I did not know they would ask for since the person who confirmed the appoint never informed me there would be yet another co-pay, after having already been overcharged. They wasted no time typing up a letter with the following words, which I feel are a scared tactic: " Without proper medical follow up, you run the risk of damaging your vision and possible blindness". I will NOT bow down to scare tactics, nor did I appreciate one of the staff members forging my signature on that paper, it wasn't even close to my valid signature! I would NEVER recommend Dr Sam Omar & Advanced Vision Institute to Anyone! I'll be finding another practice with a staff that is informed, friendly and know what compassion is. The women working the front desk lack ALL the qualities needed to provide the best care to the patients.
