She completed her fellowship training in adult endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Following her fellowship, she was appointed as a Research Staff Clinician and Ward Chief of Inpatient Endocrinology at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the NIH and as a faculty member for the NIH Endocrinology Fellowship Program. She also served as the NICHD Director of Graduate Medical Education and Co-Director of the Outpatient Endocrinology Clinic. Her research experience includes being principal investigator on clinical research protocols focused on primary aldosteronism, Cushing?s syndrome, adrenocortical tumors causing hormone excess, Carney Complex, and pituitary disease and she continues to work in these areas.?
