Parikh, an internationally regarded clinical interventional cardiologist and educator, has been recruited to serve as chief of cardiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Under Dr. Parikh?s leadership, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital will expand its offerings in complex coronary care and heart failure amongst other areas.For the past 10 years, Dr. Parikh has been an associate professor of medicine, the associate director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and director of business development at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. His research has focused on novel coronary stents, disruptive new imaging and physiology tools and atherectomy techniques, and robotic assisted stent placements.He has traveled around the world to train physicians on coronary intervention procedures. He is a Fellow of the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions, the American College of Cardiology, the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, and many other organizations.Dr. Parikh received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He began his career at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in 1990 where he completed his internship, fellowship and residency. He resides in Manhattan with his wife and two sons.
