He joined IVF FLORIDA in 1998 after completing his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of South Florida, where he also served on the faculty. In addition to caring for patients, he remains active in advancing the field through teaching and leadership.
Dr. Barrionuevo has served as president of the Florida Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (FSREI), the Miami OB/GYN Society, and the Fort Lauderdale OB/GYN Society. Currently, he is the REI Division Director in the Department of OB/GYN in the Memorial Health System and the REI Division Director in the Department of OB/GYN in HCA Florida Northwest Hospital. He also teaches as a Voluntary Clinical Professor at the University of Miami, Florida International University, and Florida Atlantic University.
