He is an Interventional Endoscopist who specializes in the endoscopic management of pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder and gastrointestinal disorders. He has a particular interest in the endoscopic removal of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions throughout the gastrointestinal tract using endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). He is trained in several other advanced therapies, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and fine needle aspiration/biopsy, balloon enteroscopy, cholangioscopy, radiofrequency ablation (e.g., Barrett?s esophagus), stent placement, stricture dilation, and endoscopic suturing. Dr. Visrodia is originally from Los Angeles, CA and graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He stayed on to receive his M.D. from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California with Dean?s Honors, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He pursued an additional year of specialty training in Interventional Endoscopy at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He was on faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, prior to returning to Columbia University. Dr. Visrodia is an active member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO). He has published research and review articles, book chapters, editorials and delivered presentations on the endoscopic management of pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions (e.g., Barrett?s esophagus) as well as improving the safety of endoscopy.
