Dr. Finnerty is a member of?professional associations including the American Association of?Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), American College of Surgeons (ACS),?North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS), and American?Thyroid Association (ATA).Dr. Finnerty graduated from Northwestern University in 2005 with a B.S.?in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with a specialization in?Biotechnology. He then obtained his medical degree in 2010 from the?University of Illinois College of Medicine where he was awarded the?Bamberger Scholarship for academic excellence. After medical school,?Dr. Finnerty completed his surgical residency at the New York?Presbyterian Hospital ? Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2017, where he?was selected as Administrative Chief during his final year. During his?residency, he also dedicated two years to complete a research fellowship?in Endocrine Oncology, where he studied the biological mechanisms of?metastasis in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and published articles?investigating thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and neuroendocrine diseases.?After residency, Dr. Finnerty then completed a clinical fellowship in?Endocrine Surgery at New York Presbyterian ?
