He then received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Burnette went on to pursue his Internal Medicine residency at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana. He later completed his gastroenterology training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

    Dr. Burnette moved to Las Vegas and joined Gastroenterology Associates in 2009. He is now proud to call Las Vegas home. He is an active managing partner at Gastroenterology Associates. He regularly participates in the day to day decision making to provide safe and effective patient care. He is also the former medical director at the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Southern Nevada.

    Dr. Burnette treats patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal and liver diseases such as acid reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic liver disease, colorectal cancer screening, and hemorrhoid therapy. Dr. Burnette is a firm believer in naturally reducing the reliance upon pharmaceutical medications and surgery. He constantly strives to advance and explore care options, therapies, and techniques that are natural and can improve an individuals quality of life.

    Dr. Burnette is most proud to be an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, where he serves as the state of Nevada’s AGA PAC advocate since 2017. He uses his voice on Capitol Hill to support legislators and candidates who protect the needs of GI patients and health care professionals for the state of Nevada.

    Dr. Burnette is married to a prominent Las Vegas attorney. He is the father of a young son and daughter. On his off time, he and his family enjoy living in Las Vegas and experiencing everything that the Silver State offers.
