    Dr. Mark T. Langhans is a second-generation fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports related injuries of both athletes and non-athletes alike at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley. He is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Langhans completed his undergraduate work at the University of Notre Dame where he graduated with a degree in biochemistry with honors. He was awarded a National Institutes of Health training grant to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Scientist Training Program where he completed a PhD in molecular genetics and developmental biology in a the Center for Cellular and Molecular Engineering in addition to his MD. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for his clinical excellence in medical school. His orthopedic surgery residency was completed at the Hospital for Special Surgery followed by a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. In addition to his training in the United States, Dr. Langhans has also trained with European experts in shoulder surgery at the Institute de Chirugie Reparatrice (Nice, France). Dr. Langhans has extensive experience caring for athletes of all levels from high school and college to professional and weekend warrior. At the Mayo Clinic, he served as an assistant team physician for the Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) and the Minnesota Twins (MLB). Additionally, he served as head team physician for the Austin Bruins (NAHL) and the Rochester Grizzlies (NA3HL). His clinical and research interests are focused on the development of personalized medicine approaches for orthopedic conditions. To this end, he offers a full spectrum of orthopedic care that includes cellular therapy, biologics, joint preservation techniques, minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, and joint replacement. He has presented his research at national and international meetings. He serves as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the Orthopedic Research Society (ORS), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
