I was in the E.R. for an ankle injury. Dr. Stout billed me $519 dollars, and I never even met the man. I was apparently greeted by a nurse practitioner under his "emergency management" who spent less than three minutes looking at my ankle and commenting on how painful it must be before admitting me to the next waiting room, where I sat (without care, ice, elevation, or even an aspirin) for a couple of hours.
