Dr. Sam Shahem, MD

Being pregnant with twins is a high risk pregnancy full of fear, stress, being lost, a huge responsibility when it comes to decision making, etc...BUT this is not the case when you have a top notch doctor with so much experience, who is clearly talented (Dr.Sam Shahem). After seeing a few doctors and having my concerns ignored about wanting a vaginal birth experience, I felt that Dr.Shahem is the only one who has the qualifications and expertise to deal with high risk and twin pregnancies. I am literally in awe after being to his office a few times, he had already surpassed all my expectations. He is simply amazing, professional, knowledgable, and dedicated. His staff are great and they always remembered my name. Dr.Shahem is very caring and makes you feel he is like a father, a brother, and best friend..he does not look at his patients as customers, nor does he care about insurance. All he cares about is the mother and the fetus...he is extremely honest and loving, and removes any fears or worries that a pregnant woman feels during pregnancy, to the point that you can blindly hand yourself and your baby(ies) to him. I never felt I was in need for anyone else's opinions (yes! not even my mom's). He was warm, compassionate, and had great insight of my worries and concerns. It's not the number of patients that makes a doctor professional, but it is the number of complicated and high risk cases that he has taken on. If you have any problems in your pregnancy, this is the doctor that you want by your side. I have been referred to this doctor by one of his patients, and I came all the way from Canada, had the honor to meet him, and it was worth it every minute of my pregnancy journey. You just don't know Dr.Shahem. He is a great person, a great doctor and a great human being. You mentioned you didn't spend a minute with him. Now I know why you had to wite this review. If you spent one minute with him as your doc, you will know the difference

I came to Dr Shahem for my third pregnancy after my original doctor retired. He came highly recommended. he is a very well trained amazingly nice sweet gentle doctor. My main concern throughout a pregnancy is if something happens or goes wrong and if I need to ask a question, will I be able to speak to my doctor? The answer is a very big NO!
