After graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychobiology as a Trustee Scholar from New York University, she earned her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, during which time she received a research grant from the National Medical Association and National Institutes of Health in biochemical neuroscience research.

    Dr. Marcelin then completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at New York Univiersity Medical Center followed by a Glaucoma Diseases fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, one of the world�s leading eye treatment facilities, under the instruction of Drs. Robert Ritch, Jeffery Liebmann, and Celso Telloo, academic leaders in the field of glaucoma.

    Dr. Marcelin has practiced in Westchester County, NY for almost 20 years, where she practices comprehensive ophthalmology with a sub-specialty focus on the diagnosis and management (medical and surgical) of both routine and complex glaucoma. She has a private practice in Westchester offering comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, as well as being a glaucoma consultant for other eye care professionals and patients.

    Dr. Marcelin has served on the teaching faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, as an Assistant Professor and Glaucoma Specialist since 2000. She also holds academic appointments at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Before entering private practice, Dr. Marcelin served as the Director of Glaucoma Services at Jacobi Hospital/ North Central Bronx Hospital Systems and Catholic Medical Center in Queens, NY.

    In addition to training and mentoring ophthalmology residents in glaucoma and cataract surgery, Dr. Marcelin has participated in medical missions to Haiti is a founding member of the Vision Restoration Project and presently sits on the board of directors. Vision Restoration Project is a Not for profit group with the purpose organizing doctors and community health workers to serve the healthcare needs of the Hispanic and Haitian communities of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. VRP organizes medical missions and staffs American eye surgeons and professionals to provide training and experience to treating the backlog of cataract patients as well aiding their eye care professionals in meeting the medical needs of those communities .
