    In addition to serving as the practice’s managing partner, Dr. Javid has been a clinical professor of ophthalmology and vision science at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona, for over 25 years.

    “I have trained ophthalmology residents and medical students for over 25 years,” he says. “I really enjoy helping to prepare the next generation.” He also stays involved in ophthalmology research, having been the principal investigator or sub-investigator in more than 65 national clinical trials and leading the research department at Retina Associates.

    Dr. Javid earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his internship at the Mayo Clinic and his ophthalmology residency at Tulane Medical Center, serving as chief resident in his final year. He completed his fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear (Harvard Medical School). He also holds an MBA from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management.

    A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Javid is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of professional organizations that include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Ocular Oncology, and The American Society of Retina Specialists.
