Amazing Doctor: from ease of appts to office atmosphere

I took my older teenage daughter very early one morning only because even with numerous doctors on staff, not one could "fit" her in their schedule. My family HAD been going to this large practice for over 13 years. She was not ill enough for an ER visit, but needed to be seen that morning. I found Dr. Carter's listing on a random website and took a chance by calling the number listed. When I phoned early (before doctors' usual office hours) in the morning, I expected the typical answering service doctors use. To my surprise, Dr. Carter answered (about 6 am). I'm sure I woke him, but he would not accept my apology saying he is a Family Doctor and illnesses don't occur only between 8am-5pm M-F. He saw us within an hour, diagnosed the flu with a rapid flu test, and prescribed Tamiflu and other medications to ease symptoms. He also dispenses several medications directly in his office. A Godsend when you are sick and must take a paper prescription to a pharmacy. The cost of his visit without insurance: $56.This is less than I used to pay after my large ins.company's discounted rate. Now, my entire family calls Dr. Carter our own. Every time I've had a medical/medication question, I've texted his cell and he responds promptly--even at 2am. My annual physical cost before I filed with my insurance was over $200 less than my previous physical at my former, over-staffed medical office. He takes great pride in his work, has never overscheduled patients and doesn't seem to keep "traditional" hours. He sees patients when the patients need to be seen. I usually (never) take time to write reviews, but I just had to give Dr. Carter the recognition he so well deserves. I need to add that his $56 office visit is not for a 15 minute in and out visit. It is the same if you are with him for 30 minutes or 2 hours. How many doctors rush you out so they can get to the paying patient. Once, I showed up a few minutes early, he was still with a patient, asked if I could wait in the Pizza restaurant next to his office for a few minutes until he was finished with his current patient, and added that he'd like me to order from the restaurant (it was lunchtime) anything I wanted as he would be picking up the tab for the inconvenience and would come to get me when his current patient left. It was less than 12-15 minutes before he came over to get me. If you know of a doctor more committed to his or her patients' well being, with full costs less than avg. Insurance co-pays, who is personally available giving out only his cell for patients, then you have hit the jackpot. I know this may sound either unbelievable or that I am or work for Dr. Carter. I assure I do not. I have worked at a major airline for over 20 years and you are welcome to e-mail me if you are in doubt. You will understand and agree with this incredible and seemingly unbelievable review of Dr. Ted Carter. If I lived in Newnan, I would make the long drive. He is that good. Just like an old-fashioned doctor who recognized his patients at stores outside of his office. The only difference is he on top of and knowledgeable about the most recent medical tests, procedures, etc. Whether you have insurance or not, you will find no finer doctor. Personally, I think he should charge more, but he said everyone needs to see a doctor at some point and the cost of medical care should not be a barrier for those with limited funds. A++++
