Dr. Abu-Rustum was eager to diagnose me based on one piece of information. Not surprisingly, this lead to a very wrong-headed diagnosis, calling for a lot of (expensive) treatment. Luckily, I sought a second opinion. This oncologist was not convinced by the one measly test, but ordered a few more just to be sure. They confirmed that I did not need the treatment Abu-Rustum had insisted was my only choice.
If you like to be alarmed unnecessarily, Abu-Rustum is your man.
If you prefer treatment from a level-headed, sensible physician, who does not make life-changing decisions while he is looking at his watch and packing his bag, I recommend you look elsewhere.
