    Dr. Cvancara graduated from the University of Idaho in 1987 with summa cum laude honors and was awarded University of Idaho Senior of the Year. In 1992 he graduated with highest honors from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD as a United States Air Force officer. He completed his medical internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, in San Antonio, TX, and then served as a flight surgeon, taking care of active duty personnel and their families both in the U.S. and in the Middle East. He then returned to San Antonio and completed his dermatology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. While a dermatology resident, he received numerous accolades, to include Chief Resident and award for the best scientific publication and presentation for the Pacific Dermatology Association. Dr. Cvancara was then assigned Chief of Dermatology, David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, CA for 4 years, after which he completed a prestigious fellowship in Mohs surgery and cutaneous surgical oncology at Billings Clinic, Billings, MT. He is the author of numerous scientific publications, a textbook chapter, and a speaker at both national and international forums.

    Dr. Cvancara has been in private practice in Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene, ID since 2004, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancers. As a Mohs surgeon, he has treated and repaired over 18,000 complex skin cancer cases. Dr. Cvancara is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the International Society of Dermatology. Additionally, Dr. Cvancara is currently affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine WWAMI medical residency program as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
