Pain free after spine surgery
I thought I would be in a lot more pain after my spinal fusion but I wasn't. I was able to get back to my activities after surgery. I am very pleased with the results

I am in significantly less pain now at this time. The job done to fix the fracture in my back was very good.

Superlative Care with my Compression Fracture
I've had a number of surgeries and procedures over the years. This Kyphoplasty has been the best experience that I have had undergoing any sort of procedure. I would recommend Dr. Mataragas to everybody.

Dr. Mataragas always gave me all of my treatment options, and I never felt pressured into choosing surgery. I am very pleased with the surgical results, and think both Dr. Mataragas and his staff do fantastic work.

I am now pain free
I could not walk before my surgery, and now I can. From the time I woke up after surgery I had no pain. Amazing results.

I'm feeling great, and all of my compression fracture pain is gone after the Kyphoplast
The Kyphoplasty procedure has removed the pain I had from the fracture. I am back doing all the things I want and am even exercising again. Having the procedure in the office worked very well and after the Kyphoplasty my pain was gone in 2 days.

Amazed by the recovery on the minimally invasive lumbar surgery
It is awesome to have a doctor with a world class medical team fighting to get approval for my surgery. It was a real battle and it was a surgery I badly needed. I was surprised by how quickly I recovered from the cutting edge, minimally invasive techniques. Two weeks after my surgery I drove to my appointment unassisted and was back to most activities.

Very Successful Cement Balloon Procedure of my Spine
No pain at all during the Kyphoplasty treatment. I felt immediate improvement, and then continued to have gradual improvement after it was done. I would recommend getting it done with Dr. Mataragas to anyone with compression fractures of their spine

Pain Relief After All These Years
After severe back and leg pain for years, it was incredible to fine a practice and a doctor that can truly recognize what the problem is. Dr. Mataragas's treatment plan was focused and effective, and there is significant improvement after surgery

The Best Back Surgeon and most wonderful staff!
I have to say this is the best back surgeon I have had the pleasure to be a patient of. I cannot say enough about his staff either, they are caring and wonderful people. I would only recommend Dr. Mataragas to touch my back. He is compassionate and cares about his patients!

Surgery was a Complete Success
Dr. Mataragas was very caring and compassionate. He performed the surgery with no complications and my recovery is going nicely. The day after surgery after 10 minutes of walking my pain was gone for the first time in over 15 years.

Outstanding experience, start to finish
After living with back pain for years I finally am able to get my life back because of the surgery Dr. Mataragas did for me. He answered all my questions before surgery, and the results were as described. We drove up from Key West to have the surgery done, and the process went very smoothly. The minimally invasive spine surgery was a complete success for me.
My pain was close to extreme prior to surgery, and within 48 hours after surgery I was up walking around doing physical therapy with minimal pain. The experience was starting a race with 2 flat tires, and ending up in first place with brand new tires. Nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Mataragas and his staff.

I Feel Good
There was a point where my back pain was so bad that I couldn't enjoy the things I loved to do, and I was starting to have to miss work. This is the best I have felt for years, now I feel like I can do activities that I have done for 15 years. Everyone notices how good I look and I tell them all it is thanks to Dr. Mataragas

Unbelievable Pleasant Experience
Dr. Mataragas went above and beyond during the entire process. He worked with my insurance company to get the surgery expedited and helped me eliminate pain that I had been dealing with for years. He is very personable and spent extra time answering questions I had. Fantastic experience and I highly recommend him.

I Haven't Felt This Good in 25 Years
I have a long history of pain in my low back and legs. All of that pain is gone thanks to Dr. Mataragas and his team at Sports and Orthopedic Center. He got me in for an appointment right away and treated me with respect throughout the process.

Life changing experience

He changed my life.
Dr. Mataragas changed my life. As a surgeon myself, my painful condition made it impossible for me to continue to take care of patients. After extensive research and checking with my other surgical colleagues on who I should turn to for back surgery, the consensus pointed to Dr. Mataragas. After his outpatient surgical procedure on me, I was able to return to work after one week. I can't say enough good things about his skill set, compassion, and understanding. Relief after 25+ years of back pain
After dealing with back pain for so long I found a spine surgeon that I was able to build a relationship with and was able to fully trust. I had an lumbar fusion done which relieved my pain and has allowed me to get back to doing the things I enjoy doing. I can walk again without pain, and feel like I have my life back. Best surgeon around
I have entirely too much experience with spine surgery and spine surgeons. I can say without a doubt he is the most talented and skillful surgeon I have been around. I would not go anywhere else for my spine surgery care, whether it be surgical or non-surgical.

Made the right diagnosis for me and didnt need surgery
After seeing 3 different physicians, Dr. Mataragas was able to make the correct diagnosis in me when no other doctor could figure out what was wrong. I had been dealing with severe pain in my back for months. The greatest part of it was that the fix for the problem he found was not even surgery! Cant thank him enough.

A really amazing surgeon.
Dr. Mataragas did my L5-S1 fusion. He spent several appointments with me going over both surgical and non-surgical treatments for my back pain. When the non-surgical treatments didn't work, I opted for surgery. Within 2 weeks of surgery, I had almost no back pain. I was already back to walking within 8 hours of my procedure. My rehab is going really well at this point, and I can't thank Dr. Mataragas and the staff at SOC and West Boca Medical Center enough!!!

fixed my back pain without surgery
After seeing multiple spine specialists and being told surgery is the only option for me, Dr. Mataragas was willing to try non-surgical methods and thankfully it resulted in me getting better and not having to have any back surgery. He cares about the patient and not just making money. I owe him everything.

Exellent minimally invasive spine surgeon!!!
My aunt had been dealing with severe back pain for years. As someone who does a manual job, she had been told spine surgery would force her to retire early. Thanks to Dr. Mataragas, he performed a state of the art minimally invasive surgery on her and she was able to recover wonderfully and is back to work at her job and pain free.
