Accepting patients

    Overview

Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Saadia Rahman was raised and medically trained in Nigeria. As a result of growing up in developing countries, she saw how the health and well-being of children can affect entire societies, and was drawn to help in any way she could. Dr. Rahman observed how very small changes in the way parents did things could have huge impacts on the mental and physical health of their children. For example, revising disciplinary approaches, changing the way we communicate with our children, changing diets and practicing good hygiene techniques can have huge impacts on a child’s self-worth.Dr. Rahman was drawn to pediatrics because she recognized this great need. Though at the time, she didn’t have access to the latest technology or equipment – she found her knowledge, desire to help, and ability to listen to her patients produced incredible results.Pediatrics and working with children brings Dr. Rahman a source of daily joy, inspiration and something to smile about every single day. “Seeing children’s ability to adjust to new circumstances is a constant wonder,” says Dr. Rahman. “When I see patients nonchalantly wearing masks in the age of COVID-19, it is nothing short of astonishing!”Dr. Rahman loves coming to work and playing with babies, watching toddlers discover their world, helping school child learn to the best of their ability, and working with teenagers as they navigate their way to adulthood. She loves then going home and doing the same with her garden…”from the seedlings to the mature trees and bushes all around me.“It is a true privilege that my patients trust me with their children’s health and wellbeing – the most precious thing in their life. I strive to be a worthy healthcare provider by always continuing to learn. This allows me to pass on the latest information and therapies to the parents of my patients, helping them raise strong, healthy children.
