It was a natural choice for Dr. Danovitch to go into medicine. Her grandmother was a general practitioner and her mother is a pediatrician, making her a third-generation female physician. Dr. Danovitch grew up helping both physicians in their offices and rounding in the hospital with them. Her close relationship with her grandmother influenced her choice to specialize in geriatrics, in addition to family medicine. The aspect of practicing medicine that Dr. Danovitch loves most is learning from her patients' life experiences. Her favorite vacation is going home to Chicago where she grew up, spending time with her parents and five siblings.In her spare time, Dr. Danovitch likes to hike, especially the Westridge trail leading to San Vicente Mountain. She also enjoys cooking and is working on incorporating more of the Mediterranean diet into family meals. Her signature dish is teriyaki salmon steamed in foil and served with sesame cabbage---a healthy dish her kids love.
