Overview
Dr. Fagin is a Board Certified Diplomate in Oral and Maxilloficial Surgery. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Dental School. Dr. Fagin served 2 years in the United States Air Force as a Captain in the Dental Corp. After an Honorable Discharge, he then went on to specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington Delaware. Dr. Fagin is a member of many professional organizations, including American Dental Association, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Academy of Osseointegration, and San Mateo County Dental Society. Dr. Faginââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s surgical interests include Oral and Maxillofacial pathology, the removal of diseased and impacted teeth, bone grafting, and comprehensive dental implant reconstruction. Dr. Fagin has been safely removing impacted wisdom teeth for over 25 years. His experience, attention to detail, along with using the most innovative techniques available for both surgery and anesthesia, allows for a comfortable surgery and a smooth recovery. Dr. Fagin has been successfully placing dental implants for over 20 years and is one of the few surgeons to have been trained by Professor Branemark of Sweden, the inventor of the technology used in todayââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s implants. This is an exciting field that continues to provide dramatic changes in peoplesââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ lives. Dr. Fagin has extensive training and experience in out- patient IV Sedation and General Anesthesia. He is a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and serves as a California State On-Site Evaluator for IV Sedation and General Anesthesia. Dr Fagin is on the surgical staff at Mills-Peninsula Hospital. His academic interests include bone and wound healing, biomechanics of dental implant reconstruction, treatment of impacted teeth, and infectious disease of the head and neck.
