Dr. Kari Tanimoto is a board certified podiatrist with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Growing up she loved playing sports, which influenced her to pursue a career in which she could help others stay on their feet. She went to Punahou for a year before going to Pearl City High School, where she graduated as a valedictorian, while also playing soccer and running cross country and track. Dr. Tanimoto left Hawaii to attend Creighton University, where she ran 4 years of Division 1 Cross Country, majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology. She went to the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University, then finished a 3-year surgical residency through Silver Lake Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She was trained in diverse medical environments including private practice offices, surgical centers, County, DVA, and Kaiser hospitals, and she went on medical mission trips with LIGA International to Sinaloa, Mexico, and Operation Footprint to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. After her training, Dr. Tanimoto worked as a full time surgical podiatrist at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County for 4 years, before finally returning home with her children, boy/girl twins. She is happy to be home, and happy to have the opportunity to treat and care for, the people of Hawaii. Dr. Tanimoto believes that your feet deserve MEDICAL EXCELLENCE and COMPASSIONATE CARE !
