Overview

Dr. Lydia Kao strives to provide non-judgmental, compassionate, and evidence-based care to all women. She was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Kao then attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She moved to Texas for residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine. During this time, she became certified in the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic surgery, won the resident of the year award in her second year, and was an inaugural member in the Academy of Resident Educators in her fourth year. She joined Dr. Aurora Gonzalez and Associates in 2017. Patients visit her for a wide spectrum of common and specialized medical needs, including contraception, endometriosis, pregnancy, or heavy or irregular vaginal bleeding. Her areas of interest include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and adolescent health. It is important to her to carefully listen to all her patients, and she is eager to serve women at all stages of life. Dr. Kao believes education is essential and aims to provide patients with a clear understanding of normal health and disease processes. Dr. Kao enjoys Crossfit, playing acoustic guitar, and discovering new music.
