Very thorough, clear, and efficient
I was concerned about the surgery. Dr. Cohen explained exactly what was going to happen, why each step was necessary, and what each step achieved. I asked several questions. I expected 'yes,' or 'no,' answers. Instead, to my pleasant surprise, he took time to give in-depth answers without jargon -- when he used a term he could see I hadn't heard before, he stopped and explained it without being condescending. I ran out of questions. I felt much better about the surgery.
The surgery itself felt very efficient and quick. He explained what he was doing and why. I expected something closer to a dental procedure, where the drill winds up followed by lots of unexplained activity and some pain. Dr. Cohen's dialog put me at ease, and I wasn't startled at any point by pain, or the actions of the procedure. I have had many medical procedures. I am also a guy. I did not expect that how Dr. Cohen spoke would affect me; but it did. It was far better than I expected.

Professional Dermatology Services

Mohs Procedure
I had seen another doctor for basal cell carcinoma. The other doctor preformed a "Mohs procedure" on my face.
A year later it came back in the same place. They biopsied that site again. For the second time the results were basal cell carcinoma. They did another "Mohs" prodedure.
One year later, the 3rd biopsy in the same site came back as basal cell carcinoma.
I asked for my medical records, and transferred to Dr. Joel Cohen.
He preformed the 3rd Mohs procedure.
The area has been clear for 3 years now. I am forever grateful for the care that I receive from Dr. Cohen. He is an expert in skin care, and we are blessed that he is in the Denver area!!!!

Mohs procedure on my nose
I was diagnosed with a melanoma on the left side of my nose earlier this year and was referred to Dr. Cohen by my primary care physician. During my first vist, Dr. Cohen explained what needed to be done in great detail and scheduled the surgery. Two surgery's were required plus a skin graft. It has only been 3 months since my last surgery, and you can barely see that anything was done. If you need a dermatologist, then I highly recommend Dr. Cohen and his staff.

A Pleasantt Surprise
In these days of hurried and sometime superficial service, I was most pleasantly surprised by the open and informative professionalism demonstrated by Dr. Cohen and his staff.
Medical procedures can be anxiety-provoking. In my case, the level of skill and caring shown made my experience with Dr. Cohen gave me assurance that i was receiving care of the highest order.

I began seeing Dr. Cohen about 2 years ago. He's not one to over prescribe or sell a cosmetic service. He's very thorough in considering the concerns and offering appropriate options.

Dr very comfortable and professional

Best of the best
I have been to many dermatologists over the years (I'm 87) and my experience at About Skin" is the best ever. If I ever need more care, I will return to Denver and "About Skin" for treatment. Outstanding Moh's surgeon
Dr Cohen performed Moh's surgery on my forehead with over an inch incision, and 3 months later, you could not see the scar! Amazing! Not only is he an excellent surgeon, but he truly cares about his patients, making helpful suggestions for future care and treatment!

Our experience with AboutSkin Dermatology
My husband was seen by an oncologist who said that his case was just too much for him to handle and referred us to Dr. Ho and Dr. Cohen. Since being seen here and all of the recommended treatments, he is very much improved. From the day he started seeing the doctors to now looks completely different. We have hope that he is healed. I have also seen Dr. Cohen for a Mohs surgery and used to feel a "needle prick" sensation when I touched the spot, but now after it's been removed, I feel nothing.

I was in very competent and skillful hands!
I felt so blessed in every way! My entire experience at Dr. Cohen's office has been beyond my expectations.
My husband is a Plastic Surgeon and he agrees. Dr. Cohen is in every way "Star" quality! He is gifted!
However, he is also a very kind and caring doctor.
The staff is also first rate...everyone is excellent at what they do and they are thoughtful and ever eager to make the experience here the very best.
I highly recommend Dr. Cohen as I have the highest regard for him.
