I am Doctor Alexander Salerno MD, MHA board certified in internal medicine from New Jersey. I am a lead physician at Salerno Medical Associates. I am a second-generation physician in internal medicine and CEO of multi-specialty practice that currently cares for more than 15,000 patients. I am a participating provider with Medicare and Medicaid and commercial insurances for 13 years. I am also a founder of population health programs U.H.I.P. and S.H.O.P., whose focus is on bridging disparity in healthcare in minority groups: African Americans, Latinos, seniors, and those with behavioral health conditions. These two-community health initiatives focus on chronic disease state management, primary and preventative services, as well as therapeutic medication management. The programs collaborate with local health systems in providing integrated, coordinated patient care. Furthermore, we have collaborated with Seton Hall School of Nursing and provided non-matriculated health literacy classes to community members ranging from retirees, to pastors, deacons, and general work force. Again, our motto is that you cannot fix a problem until you understand the problem and knowledge is power.
