carpal tunnel
a little nervous to have surgery, but the staff at Southington hospital was excellent. they made you feel comfortable. Dr. Nelson took the time to explain the whole procedure and the after care. The office staff was amazing and took the time to explain what to expect.

Excellent experience
Dr. Nelson and the staff were very professional and very informative. Everyone explained everything and I did not know that the surgery could be done in the office. The surgery went well and everything Dr. Nelson did he explained, and did it with professionalism. The office and area of surgery was clean and I had no worries afterwards. I would recommend Dr. Nelson and his staff to everyone.

amazing
I came in with my right hand swelling. Dr Nelson conducted a x ray, gave me a cortsone shot in my wrist then with no luck I decided to have surgery. During the surgery Dr Nelson found nothing wrong but found I had really fine yellow webbing or netting in my wrist that was irritating my nerves and tendons. He has removed it and my wrist is just about 100% back to normal.

Better than expected - felt well taken care of and informed
Excellent. Everyone in the office (doc, staff, reminder calls, etc) were all very pleasant. The professionalism of the office made me feel in "good hands."

Do not be afraid!!!!
I was quite nervous about the surgery beforehand, but Dr. Nelson answered all my questions and put me at ease. I woke after surgery numb and comfortable. The next week or so was as expected and no fuss. Will definitely come back and have the other hand done.

I am 95 years old and my hand bothered me for a long period of time I was so surprise when I finally had the procedure so fast easy and not painful. I would recommend any and all seniors not to wait go for it. AMC

From 1st visit to final post op,,,excellent.
Dr Nelson was confident , reassuring from beginning to end with his diagnosis and very informative therefor helping me with my decision making concerning this injury, Surgery went well due to his vast medical experience, I am still progressing in a positive direction..i have little or no visible scarring due to his expertise.

Fantastic and Professional
Dr. Nelson and his staff are all extremely competent, compassionate and professional when dealing with their patients. I came to him as a patient whom had never had surgery before and did not know what to expect. Dr. Nelson explained every part of the process to me, and took excellent care of me before during and after the surgery. Dr. Nelson even called me at home after my surgery to check on my status. I would highly recommend friends/family to be cared for by Dr. Nelson and his staff.

Once again Dr.Nelson handled my hand issue with impressive assessment and flawless skill.
During the initial consultation Dr.Nelson listened, asked poignant questions and gave me his candid opinion on options, along with his recommendation. My confidence was well placed as Dr.Nelson saw this recent issue through to a successful resolve. My previous experiences addressing different hand/wrist/finger issues with him were all extremely successful as well.

I've had my carpal tunnel 15 to 20 years. After having my both surgeries being done a week apart, Dr. Nelson has allowed me being able to go back to work the following Friday .

Grateful!!!
For the past two years I've been suffering from pain, numbness and tingling in my hands. I ignored it thinking it would go away but over the last 6 months it got worse to the point where I was waking up every 45 minutes. Now I don't know about you, but sleep is one of the 3 triggers for ways to annoy me (messing with my food and money are my other two in the event you're interested.) Well, I'm more than happy to report that I've had a solid, undisturbed night of sleep since night one!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience...
Dr. Nelson was wonderful from start to finish.. I broke my wrist on 2/1/19, and was terrified of what was to come. I am a self-employed hairstylist, and an injury like mine could essentially be a "career killer". As soon as I met Dr. Nelson (2/4) i knew everything would be ok. His bedside manner was like no other. I had surgery 2/6 and was able to return to work exactly 4 weeks post-op (3/7). A great surgeon with a positive attitude was all I needed and Dr. Nelson delivered 110%.

Excellent care all around
From my initial visit to my last follow-up, Dr Nelson as well as everyone in the office, including the physical/occupational therapists were caring, courteous, professional and honest.
I would recommend this doctor and office to anyone looking for such a specialist.

Dr. Nelson was amazing, completely recommend the doctors and nurses.
Came in for my follow ups following 3 surgeries, have zero complaints regarding the follow up care. Dr. Nelson was caring and explained the stages to my recovery clearly. I highly recommend this practice.

Excellent care and expertise
After an impact injury left me with a UCL injury, I landed in the office of Dr. Nelson and I could not have been happier. He is very thorough, knowledgeable, and a highly skilled surgeon. He explained every step of the process to me from surgery to recovery to therapy and I appreciated that the most - he took away the fear of the unexpected. He always asked if I had any questions and took the time to answer them.

Very pleased with care and outcome.
I had surgery on my thumb for arthritis. I was very concerned about the outcome. But Dr. Nelson and the staff were very patient, listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable with my surgery. All went as expected.

Great bed side manner, very professional but very human
Dr. Nelson walked me through what was a bit of a scary experience with my hand. It was pretty batted up with multiple puncture wounds and I was worried I would have some permanent damage. He explained all of the things he would do and all I had to do to have a positive outcome in terms I could understand. His staff from reception to his MAs were polite and friendly, minimum of paper work forms.

I would highly recommend Dr. Nelson.
I had fractured my hand 5 weeks ago when I met Dr. Nelson. I was very nervous and concerned that I would need surgery. Dr.Nelson explained everything about my injury and gave me all the information I would need to help me make a decision on when and if I would do surgery. Even though I struggled with the decision I made about not to do the surgery, he helped me every step of the way. Over all, I am doing wonderfully today and I owe it to Dr. Nelson and his expertise in his field. Thank you

Very professional
I couldnt be any happier with how my injury and surgery were treated by Dr Nelson and the staff. I was very apprehensive before my surgery but Dr Nelson put me at ease and did an excellent job on the surgery itself.

Excellent care
I have had three trigger finger procedures and carpal tunnel surgery in both hands with Dr.Nelson. He is thorough and thoughtful in his explanations and care. His surgery center and office staff are top of the line. Great experiences every time! Whenever mention his name to other doctors and friends they always say he is the best. I totally agree! He has also worked on hand injuries with my young daughter and he established trust and showed compassion that made her feel safe and comfortable.

Dr, Nelson and his staff have been very reassuring and provide excellent care.
I was nervous in the beginning and had lived with my injury for a couple of month prior to realizing the seriousness of the injury. I was surprised to learn my injury required surgery. However Dr. Nelson and the staff both in the office and at the Surgical Center were reassuring and the surgery was a great success.
I am also very happy with the care and treatment from the physical therapist I see and very pleased with the progress I am making.

Went from pain to perfect. Couldn't be happier.
Was very nervous going in knowing the recovery was gonna be tough. Dr Nelson explained that it wasn't going to be easy and he was right but if I had to do it all over again there would be no question and it would be with Dr Nelson. I cant believe how good my hand feels now. Thanks to everyone at Dr Nelsons office..
