    A: I chose to pursue a career in infectious diseases because the field is ever-changing and certainly never boring! Doing infectious disease work is also being part detective in trying to understand and diagnosis a patient�s condition. It is also knowing the science and practicing evidence-based medicine to provide the best course of treatment in a field of medicine that continues to change and grow.
