    Q: What made you decide to pursue your specialty?

    A: Early in my career, I spent time at The National Cancer Institute, where I was introduced to researchers who were passionate about finding new ways to treat cancer using immunologic approaches. Over the subsequent years, the pace of new drug development in this field has exploded exponentially. Being able to help patients who have had their roof cave in with a devastating diagnosis gives me no better feeling, and now with the accelerated development of these new treatments, we can help in ways never before imaginable.

    A: Patients have told us that they immediately recognize the personalized care that they receive from our team both in the outpatient as well as the inpatient setting. As one of our patients recently said, "You want to have a doctor and team that you can talk to, people that really listen to you." We are able to offer this personalized treatment, using cutting-edge therapies that enable our patients to receive these treatments close to home.
