Amazing level of care from 1st visit thru surgery and on into post-op visit.
Dr. Ching and his team were a joy to work with. They are extremely professional and competent in all phases of the care process. I always felt extremely cared for and would recommend Dr. Ching and Oregon Spine Care to anyone needing treatment in his area of expertise.

Changed my life for the better
I had a 3 level fusion at OHSU in 2010, the screws were tearing out and there was a non union at L5-S1 and was in terrible pain, truly terrible.
Dr. Ching did a revision surgery on the fusion and he literally saved my life. My pain has decreased roughly 90%, which is way above normal compared to statistics outlined on the internet.
He is caring, a great listener and is willing to do anything to help his patients. I'm so grateful for the work he did and what he does for not only me but others that have suffered through poor surgeries.
He is the best and his staff always did whatever was needed.

Excellent
Even though he does this everyday, all day, he has changed my life with this surgery. I didn't think I would have relief like this after my car accident. I recommend him to patients I see at my own workplace

Stellar!
Dr. Ching inspired my trust and confidence. He didn't diagnose without all relevant data. When he had it he explained clearly and precisely what he would do and why. He was honest about what I could expect and did not promise that I would be free of pain only that I would be better. He further said he could not make me forty again. I am pain free and I am not forty again. He did not lie.

I have a pain free life again. Absolutely confident in Dr Ching.
On my initial visit with Dr Ching, I immediately felt like I was going to receive the best medical care available to me regarding significant progressive spine deformity. I appreciated Dr. Ching's conservative and calculated approach to addressing my significant scoliosis which included unwillingness to do surgery on me until he was confident that I was at a proper weight an nutritionally sound to have a successful outcome to a surgery. He chose to do a more limited surgery that he was confident would provide me relief from significant and debilitating pain. This surgery, for the time being, has provided with a return to a "normal" life and being able to enjoy almost everything that is important to my happiness and well-being without any sense of restriction. I absolutely could not have had a better medical care experience with such a disability and abnormality in my spine. I have absolute total and complete confidence in Dr Ching and his staff regarding spine issues.

Thorough and caring provider
Dr. Ching has performed 2 lumbar surgeries for me, and is always willing to answer any questions I have as well as describe things to me in a manner I understand. I always feel like he listens to my concerns and takes them seriously and wants to help me feel my best.

Hopefully the last surgery I have!
Experienced a major sciatic event 2 years ago. PA Joel Horst guided me to recovery of symptoms. However, sciatic pain continued directly related to bending and twisting motions, pain that stopped me in my tracks. Finally, decided to explore a permanent remedy. Surgery was very controversial as talked to friends, but eventually Coflex was recommended. Procedure seemed reasonable and not too invasive. So, 12/16/20 I had the surgery. I'm now at 3 months past and srill feeling mild ache in lower back and slight pain with certain movements.

Dr Alex Ching & his entire team and staff have been awesome
Dr. Ching did a fantastic job w. a difficult spinal surgery involving 3 disc regions (microdiscectomy laminenectomy) & small separate fusion. No screws! The new bone is filling in from fragments in a small plastic cage. I can now function and even hike again. Importantly also, the reception group including Deb and medical assistants and PAs from Michelle to Nicole & Joel are also top notch & communicate well . Ching himself takes time to share exactly what he is doing and why! He also will tell you if he can't do something that will improve your health. Hats off to you all & many thanks. <:)

Dr. Ching gives me the help I need make progress during my recovery.
Dr. Ching operated on my herniated disc. The surgery was successful, but recovery from the nerve damage has taken longer than expected. Although Dr. Ching can't "fix me" he is helping me get the appropriate treatment so I can continue to make progress. Too many surgeons would lose interest in a patient like me because they can't personally do anything, so it is refreshing to work with someone who cares about my long term progress.
