Dr Burrus is a true professional. Very knowledgeable Orthopedic physician. Tells it like it is but in a very professional manner. Would see him for any orthopedic problem that i may encounter.

Shoulder Surgery - Replacement
My father (69 years of age) went to Dr. Burrus for his shoulder replacement. My father was extremely pleased and as a son, I was very pleased with the Doctor. He was incredibly transparent and available. Would definitely request his services if they are needed!!

Outstanding Physician and Person
I am 76 and have seen very many doctors, but I don't believe I have ever had one that I would grade at 5 stars, across the board. Doc Burrus is not only an excellent physician, but also a very good "people person". I haven't ever had a Dr that communicated, and was so fully patient oriented. He is the first, and only one that uses all means available, including email, to keep in touch with his people. And I believe that is what makes him stand out. His patients are his "people"!

Best Orthopedic Surgeon
One of the Best Orthopedic Surgeon in Austin!! Doctor M. Burrus is truly a great Doctor! Hey always took the time to answer my emails asap. He has a professional staff working for him. I feel like I have a new knee after my Arthroscopy surgery for my minscis tare.

Inspires confidence, very caring.
I just had surgery today. Couldn't wait to rave about Dr Burris in every facet of care. Pre-op checks were thoroughly done and explained. He answered a list of questions I had before even asking them. Great at pre-op. Explained the procedure and results to my wife after surgery while I was in recovery. He was also great about communication via email. Inspires confidence on the future of my knee.

Excellent Doctor
Dr. Burrus is an excellent doctor who knows exactly what he is doing. He always helped me understand what was happening. Dr. Burrus answered every single question I had and gave very clear explanations.

Overall Best Physician Experience Yet
First visit I was seen at exactly my appointment time and felt that I was given the red carpet treatment. Dr. Burrus was attentive and listened to all my symptoms prior to the exam. After a thorough exam, he gave a clear and descriptive diagnosis. I have had my knee surgery done, and my follow up visits are as prompt and thorough as my first. I love the staff-they are genuine and caring!

I highly recommend Dr. Burrus
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Burrus. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and he responded promptly to emails outside of working hours. During exams, he listened carefully to me and explained his insights in an easily understood manner. Most impressive to me is his unwillingness to jump to conclusions. If there is a natural and less invasive solution to what ails you, that is his first choice. I highly recommend Dr. Burrus.

Bucket Handle Tear of Meniscus Repair
I would (and have been) highly recommend Dr. Burrus to my family and friends. I was able to get an appointment with him much quicker than other orthopedic surgeons. He was very honest, straight forward, and clear in explaining my options. What I really appreciate about him is that I was able to email him, versus having to call his office, leave a message, and wait for a call back. My surgery and recovery have gone well, and bonus - you can barely see my scar! Thanks Dr. Burrus and team!!!

Couldn't be happier
Dr. Burrus has been incredible from the get go. He allowed me to talk about my history with a chronic shoulder dislocation. We discussed options and he went into detail about each and what he would recommend based on time, my job, my out of pocket expense, and long term goals. He was never pushy about any particular thing and extremely informative.
Coming to see him was the best decision I've made.

Dr. Burrus and his staff provided exceptional care. From the time when I was in the ER to my post-op visits, he was very calm, approachable and openly listened to concerns and questions. He was trustworthy and alleviated the stress from a difficult injury for both myself and my family. Without hesitation, I highly recommend his office and his services as a surgeon.

Very positive experience, would highly recommend.
This was the first time I have ever needed a surgery. I had an ACL reconstruction with Dr. Burrus. He was very clear on the procedure and did everything he could to make sure I was ready for the surgery. The recovery was great, he answered all the questions I had, and he is very responsive. It has been 5 months now and I am back to doing my normal routine, running and working out on my knee with no issues. I had a great experience and I would definitely recommend him and his team!

Excellent Doctor
I found Dr. Burrus to be an excellent Doctor. Open, honest and direct. He was very clear on what his expectations were of both me as a patient and the treatment provided. I also had the opportunity to meet with his staff on several occasions and found them to exhibit the same level of professionalism.
On a personal note, Dr. Burrus and his team were easy to communicate with and demonstrated a genuine in their concern for my recovery.

Most *EXCELLENT* orthopedic surgeon!!
Dr. Burrus was the doc on call when I wound up in the ER after a terrible fall injury with resultant fractures. I will be eternally grateful for his exceptional clinical expertise & attention to detail in a stressful situation, not to mention his incredible surgical acumen & thoughts toward surgical after-care. I was provided every possible medical advantage because of his expertise. I could not ask for anything more. He is an annointed, gifted healer and surgeon.

Best experience I've ever had with a doctor!
Out of all the doctors I have seen, Dr. Burrus is by far the best. His attention to patient care is outstanding, and the fact that I was always able to communicate with him made me more confident in my recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Burrus!

Great with our daughter's ankle
We are very happy with Dr. Burrus. He listened to what was going on with our 13 year old's ankle and her previous diagnosis. He was able to find the best way to approach the surgery and her outcome was great. She is able to play select soccer again with no pain. We would definitely recommend Dr. Burrus to everyone.

Great experience!
Dr Burrus is straight forward and kind. He performed surgery on my knee. I found him to be very knowledgeable, abreast of all techniques and possible treatments, and thorough with explanations. He was available via e-mail all the time and quickly responded to any needs I had. His nurse Megan is great too.

Hip Problems Completely Resolved Thanks to Dr. Burrus
I was referred to Dr. Burrus for surgery for a torn labrum in my right hip. During pre-op assessment, Dr. Burrus expertly recognized some additional bone abnormalities that were likely a cause of significant pain and came up with a plan to address these during surgery. His diagnosis was spot on and the surgery a remarkable success. The recovery was extremely easy and three months out from surgery all of my symptoms have resolved and I have no pain and full range of motion again.

Responsive and Knowledgeable
Dr. Burrus is providing me quality care as I wade through the healing process with a hernaited disc. He has made great decisions alongside me, and he has been quick to follow up with me. I would recommend Dr. Burrus to anyone old or young.

Went from pain to new way of life without it.
Terrible pain in my hip kept me from being active and sleeping well at night. I explained to Dr Burrus the issue and after taking an xray he was able to explain to me the issue I was having...It very informative and gave me the direction I needed to go strengthen the muscles that were weak and causing the bursitis in the hip. A steroid injection was helpful to the place where my therapist could work with me and help me to exercise. I truly appreciate the knowledge I have now thanks to Dr Burrus.

Dr. Burrus was very helpful in a diagnosis for me and giving direction to proceed with pain management before leaving on a big trip. He also recommended treatment through another source. I am very grateful for his prompt and caring attention. He even called me!

Left Knee Pain
I am so grateful for meeting this Doctor. I am new to Austin and he really took his time to talk with me about my concerns with my knee, I am an athlete so my knee and training is extremely important to me. He was honest with me with my training and the injuries that could happen with more training.

Surgeon review
Dr. Burrus is a fantastic up and coming doctor. He is quick and to the point and doesn't waste any time. My surgery went very will and the recovery was even better. Hopefully I never have to see him again, but if I have the need the will be no question he will be my surgeon.

Beyond impressed with Dr Burrus - you won't be disappointed!
I was beyond impressed with my experience with Dr Burrus. He was thorough in treating my trimalleolar fracture and actively listened to all of my questions, as well as my concerns. He explained my injury and laid out all steps so I knew what to expect for care and recovery. His staff was courteous and professional, as well. His specialty is shoulder but he can take care of all your ortho needs, I'm proof of that!

Highly Recommend
My shoulder has been ailing for the last 10 years due to a sports injury. I have seen multiple doctors about the injury but none of them truly listened to my problem and tried understanding exactly what I was dealing with on a daily basis. Dr. Burrus listened very well, and then explained to me the entire process of MRI and physical therapy. Everything was well explained. The follow up was also well appreciated. I feel like Dr. Burrus and I are on the same page and have the same goal. Great Doc!

Labral Tear in Shoulder
Dr. Burrus took the time to listen to me describe my shoulder pain. After making a diagnosis and discussing my options, we decided to give physical therapy a try. It has made a night and day difference in the way my shoulder feels. I really appreciate his willingness to try alternatives to surgery. He has been following up with me throughout the process, which is a refreshing change of pace from what I've experienced with other doctors in the past.

I could not be more please with Dr. Burrus's care. In this day and age when you feel like you are a burden to some medical providers, Dr. Burrus is the total opposite. He even followed up with me via email to check in and see how I was doing. To me, that is stellar care!

Satisfied, but could have been better
I was advised to meet with Dr. Burrus for a bone infection. The diagnosis seemed rushed and over-interpretive, based on partially incorrect assumptions. However, the treatment was very effective and the recovery relatively painless. I must note that I couldn't start the antibiotic therapy because the pharmacy didn't receive the prescription from Dr. Burrus, and it took a lot of effort and several calls to Austin Bone and Joint clinic to be put in contact with him. He rapidly solved the issue.
