    Dr. Kiene is one of only four fellowship trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeons in Northern Nevada. Mohs Micrographic Surgery is a procedure that insures higher cure rates for basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma by taking the least amount of tissue necessary to clear the margins. In addition to specializing in Mohs, Dr. Kiene also practices general dermatology.

    Dr. Kiene graduated with his Medical Doctoral degree from UCLA School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his internship at UCLA San Fernando Valley and his dermatology residency from the UCLA Combined Dermatology Program in Los Angeles. His one-year fellowship in Moh’s micrographic surgery was completed at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

    Dr. Kiene is married and has three children, Max, Catherine and Sam. He enjoys, boating, fishing and backpacking with family and friends and is an active member of his church.
