Medical care always done with a smile
Dr. Chevalier is a skilled Nephrologist with an outstanding personality and charm. While I don't always like the results he gives me his "hand-holding" and explaining gives me comfort and guidance. Finding out you have CKD is an overwhelming experience but Dr. Chevalier has done his best to suggest ways for me to prolong the health of my kidney's and done his best to take away the mystery. In addition he is the most on-time doctor I have ever seen.

Is and will be my doctor for years
I've had James Chevalier as my Nephrologist for the past few years and I plan to have him for as long as he's a practicing doctor. He's been amazingly supportive, honest, and kind. He has encouraged me to continue to take care of myself and helped guide me to keep my kidneys functioning for a long as possible. When the day inevitably comes that I require a transplant or dialysis, I know I'll be ready, because I'll have him looking over me. Do yourself a favor and put your trust in Dr. Chevalier.

We've seen many specialists for my husband's lupus and RA. It was until we found Dr Chevalier that we have felt truly heard and cared for. We are so grateful to be treated by Dr. Chevalier.

Saved my life
I was in a terrible state with myasthenia gravis and vasculitis in 2011. It was a frighten time with everything happening at once, in addition to my kidney was failing. Dr. Chevalier made me feel everything will be ok. He was and still is, extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and i absolutely trust his decision. He is an amazing doctor!

On time and will always answer questions clearly and slowly.
While I do not like traveling to New York from New jersey I do like coming to see Dr. Chevalier. He is a fantastic doctor and knows how to make me feel involved in my health. He considers my kidney issues but also understand that I am more than just my illness and puts everything in context of my overall well-being.

Above and Beyond
I have been a patient of Dr Chevalier's for many years now. He along with my rheumatologist, has taken care of my lupus, SLE. He has always made sure I am comfortable and treated me respectfully. He's personable and remembers things about me to let me know he's listening.
I appreciate the time he takes to make sure I understand my situation and the steps needed to help me live a normal lifestyle. He is greatly appreciated!

Extremely knowledgeable, compassionate physician
Dr. Chevalier is one of a kind. He is incredibly knowledgeable (probably one of the best), but compassionate. He takes the time to listen, discuss your concerns and provide details on his recommended course of action.

A Great Peritoneal Dialysis Doctor
Dr Chevalier is a wonderful doctor. I am not the best patient because I like to do things my way but i really appreciate my relationship with Dr Chevalier. He understands my apprehension and distrust about the medical industry and is winning me over with his care. I can count on him to answer all the questions I have about peritoneal dialysis and the transplant process and to be available when needed. He's a good listener, too. I am glad to have a doctor who understands me and I consider myself fortunate to have Dr. Chevalier with me on this PD journey.

Spectacular Care
Dr. Chevalier is one of the best doctors I've been treated by (and I've seen many doctors). He is incredibly bright, patient and takes time to explain things and answer questions. I trust him completely when it comes to handling my care. When I met him I was tremendously sick and my health was spiraling out of control. He takes initiative to follow up with my other doctors. The time and attention he gave my case was everything I could've hoped for.I feel very lucky.

Best in class nephrologist
I've been a patient of Dr. Chevalier's for at least a decade. After a complicated childhood diagnosis, he is the only physician I trust inherently. He's gotten me through two pregnancies, is always available for feedback, and takes tremendous care of patients based on their individual needs. I would not hesitate to refer him to ANYONE. He's a pleasure and such a professional. My family and I are lucky to have found him.

I am so fortunate to have been referred to him.
To be told there may be an issue with your kidneys is disturbing. After speaking with him I felt so much better. I find Dr. Chevalier to be knowledgeable, honest, caring and attentive.

Best Bedside Manner
I have been seeing Dr. Chevalier for over 2 years now at the Rogosin Institute. In the beginning i went to countless doctors who were unable to tell me what was wrong. I was finally referred to Dr. Chevalier who figured it out, treated me with what was necessary and now I am almost back to perfect health. He was great bedside manner, and willing to listen to all your problems. He gets straight to the point and ask you your opinions and if you have any worries about your treatment.

Excellent
Dr. Chevalier explains things clearly, is pro-active in calling if he sees a problem (in blood test resuits, for example), and is always informed about my case even before the appointment begins. He cares about his patients. He's impossible not to like. I would recomend him highly to anyone with kidney issues.

James Chevalier is the most proficient doctor you want to have on your team. He truly cares about your health and treatment. He is friendly, kind, patient,and attentive to his patients needs. When He diagnosed me with lupus,was scared and worried. However, six months later, I wasn't worried as my kidney started to function normal again and my lupus symptoms went away. He's a confident Doctor and I trust him with my health.

Best Doctor In New York City
I've been seeing Dr. Chevalier for the last 8 years. When I first came to see him, my diabetes and kidney condition was not great. After following his care and advice, 8 years later my kidney function is not only amazingly better. He is a doctor who not only cares about his patients, but he listens as well. His knowledge is highly valuable. I would suggest him to every single person who need his expertise!!

The greatest!
Dr. Chevalier is an amazing doctor who has helped me control my illness and made me believe there is a possibility to have a normal life again. When first meeting Dr. Chevalier I was in very bad shape and the future was unknown. He treated my lupus nephritis with such attention that I strongly believe I wouldn't be where I am today if I wasn't under his care. He took everything into consideration and healed my kidneys calming down the lupus attack.

Amazing Doctor
I started coming to the Rogosin Institute approximately 3 years ago after deciding it was time to change Nephrologists. I am very thankful that I was able to locate such a great doctor. When I started coming to the Rogosin Institute, it was because my prior Nephrologist said it was time to get on a kidney transplant list. My family and I sought out expert opinions and came across Dr. Chevalier. His expertise has me still fighting along and at this moment, I do not need to be on a transplant list. I'm a truly grateful to have such a great doctor and support staff at the Rogosin Institute!

Remarkable care.
Dr. Chevalier recognized from the outset that I was facing a rare condition that was difficult to diagnose. After extensive testing and biopsies, his "hunch" proved to be spot on. Throughout the ensuing months of treatment, Dr. Chevalier's confidence and enthusiasm were invaluable.
