If a trip to a MD could be great ... this was great!
I was so impressed with the experience. He had read all my info ahead of time, sat with me and explained the various tests and what they meant in laymen’s terms. He was patient, focused and holistic ... a rare experience

Compassionate, empathetic, attentive.
I was diagnosed with echogenic kidneys via another doctor with my eGFR declining fast. The doctor I was seeing wanted to go straight to kidney biopsy which I was concerned about. His communication about my situation was poor. I decided to look on and, through my research, found Dr Chevalier. Extremely concerned about my situation, I asked Dr Chevalier to meet with me. He met me that week, listened carefully, and quickly started to assess. He started with lab work and looked at other factors the other doctor never discussed. He called me back immediately with my lab results. We met shortly after for another round of labs which showed stable, good markers. We met a couple of more times to keep an eye on my labs, with same results. Throughout he was accessible, answered all my questions, and most of all compassionate & empathetic to my situation. I truly felt I had someone who was right beside me committed to helping me. I cannot thank him enough for all he did for me, more than he knows.

I can’t imagine a better doctor.
Over four years, Dr. Chevalier has given me excellent care. He has been proactive, calling me when he was concerned. He went out of his way to make sure I wasn’t given kidney-damaging drugs during an unrelated operation. His analysis and advice are crystal clear. Every visit with him is a pleasure. It’s obvious that he cares deeply for each of his patients.

BEST DR AROUND
I travel from Orlando FL for my visits. He is top shelf, positive, very knowledgeable and compassionate. I've had many nephrologists, and none compare to Dr Chevalier. He treats you to save your kidneys, avoiding the alternative. I've had Dr's tell me to just drink water, and was losing function, until I was treated by him. Awe bedside manners, honest and truly cares for his patients. His goal is to keep you healthy and off the machines and table. As a former nurse, I've seen everything. Many Dr's are just PRACTICING on you.
Great caring staff too. They don't just brush you off. They listen carefully to give you the best. They're definitely worth the travel to save my solitary kidney.

One of the best!
He’s a little high strung and fast paced (it’s NYC, who isn’t?) - but he’s thorough, kind and genuinely cares about his patients. He’s extremely smart and answers all my questions - or finds the answers. I’m very happy he is my nephrologist - I definitely feel like I am in good hands.

Dr. Chevalier gave me my life back!
I could not ask for a better doctor than Dr. Chevalier. I came to him with little to no hope, and he truly did give me my life back. After countless doctors that did little to help me, and truly thinking I was on the brink of kidney failure, within a few months of seeing Dr. Chevalier I was stable and mostly back to my old self. His ability to diagnose and treat is truly a league above the rest. I could not thank him more and would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Wonderful doctor, kind and extremely knowledgeable
Dr Chevalier is a kind, patient, and caring doctor. He really listens and never rushes you. It's obvious that he truly cares for you as an individual. He also is extremely knowledgeable and explains your diagnosis and treatment plan very clearly. I trust him completely and I am extremely thankful to have him as my physician.
