I would like a but more time to explain my pain.
I seen doc Shane this and every visit. He and doc Chen are awesome doctors. But I would really like a bit more time in explaining more about my pains. I now ha e hip and knee troubles.

Easy to talk to!
Went well. Was a follow up with medicine check. Dr Chen followed up with me a few weeks ago for a problem with my medicine and the pharmacy. The miscommunication wasn't his fault. He requested generic substitute if name brand couldn't be filled. The pharmacy didn't relay this to me. They just told me that the insurance company has denied the request and I needed a new pre-authorization. They didn't even ask if it was okay to fill with generic substitute. Dr Chen responded to my email within 15 minutes to let me know that's what had happened. He also called the pharmacy to tell them to fill the prescription with generic. If they had let me know the issue I could have had my prescription filled within a day, instead of a week late and I wouldn't have had to contact Dr Chen on his personal email. But he was great to respond to me so quickly to get this issue resolved. Thank you, Dr Chen!!!

Always listens like a friend, not like a doctor
Dr. Chen has always been a very friendly doctor and he listens as if he’s a friend. I understand his diagnosis and he always gives the treatment plan to me without using big dr. words I don’t understand. He treats me as a friend who really cares instead of a stuffy and perfect walking medical dictionary who has zero feelings about people who need help.
I left a pain specialist I’d been seeing for approximately four years. The “only” thing he was doing was putting a Band-Aid on my problems by prescribing me more and more pills to take. After one appt. with Dr. Chen, my eyes were wide open to the fact I was only getting my pain managed by pills Dr. Chen had me get an MRI and started fixing me instead of just taking more drugs.
I have recommended Dr. Chen to other people I know who need help managing pain either before or after surgery.

Dr. Chen is kind, caring and sincerely wants the best for his patients.
The staff at Alta pain physicians are very pleasant and easy to talk with. Dr. Chen’s asst. Shane really knows what’s going on with whatever ailment you may have and also is genuinely very concerned about each and every patient. I highly recommend Alta pain physicians and would also like to thank them for all that they’ve done for me.

By far, the best experience with a provider I've had in a long, long time!
Went in due to chronic pain I've been experiencing for over 2 years. He was professional and actually listened to what had been going on - not in a hurry at all - took the time I needed to explain the situation. Refreshing, engaged...basically a God-send to me.

I see Shane once a month. Even if it’s a busy day, he always makes me feel like I always have the time I need and never feel rushed. He’s gifted in making important statements or education on my diagnosis or treatment in a short and uninformed communicat
I feel that the front desk needed some work as far as feeling messages were relayed, or a standard procedure to make sure everything was completed. I have had questions because my ins copay is same. Unless I’m unaware of additional charges. So when I find I owe more, I was always surprised. Howerwver, last 213 mo I feel it seems more relatable and they teach me. I sure would T want to owe money! :).

Back pain treatment
Dr. Chen is willing to listen to problems and where pain is located. He offers suggestions to help with the pain. He is efficient and friendly. Good doctor!
