This was a change from Dr. Byrd.
I had been seeing Dr. Byrd since 2004. Then Dr. Byrd transitioned to Alta Pain Clinic, and I continued seeing him until he transitioned once again, this time out of state, so this was my first appointment with anyone other than Dr. Byrd since 2004. However, the experience proved to be enjoyable and I was able to continue with the pain medication regimen that Dr. Byrd and I had set up and proved worked.

Dr. Chen is the best pain doctor I’ve ever see .
He always listens to all of my concerns, involves me in the decisions about my treatment, genuinely cares about me and my family and knowing how we are, never tries to tell me I need more treatment than I do just to get extra money, and he is super empathetic about my pain. Totally judgment-free.

He has made a big impact in my life, regarding my pain.
Everyone at Alta Pain has always been extremely nice. Very patient, willing to listen. I look forward to my appts. Dr.Chen has finally given me relief from pain, I've dealt with for years. His office team has great follow through, which is impossible to find now a days. They all truly care, and it shows!

The appointments are great but trying to reach someone after your appointment is hard.
The provider is great but anytime you need to speak with someone after the appointment you will ALWAYS be sent to a voicemail and it’s hard to get a call back. When you finally get a call back it’s great they are helpful just don’t expect someone to answer the phone when you call.

Learning to deal with chronic pain
Dr Chen and Shane Green have been treating me for about six years with epidural injections, prior to, and post lower back surgery, and knee injections prior to a knee arthroplasty. They have definitely increased my quality of life, dealing with chronic radiculopathy, and three years of a failing knee.

Great experience, exceptional care, highly competent
I was very nervous for the stellate ganglion block but Dr Chen made the procedure feel easy, calmly explaining every step during the process, putting me at ease and executing flawlessly. He and his staff were very personable and I appreciated his flexibility for an unscheduled follow-up on short notice. I would highly recommend Dr Chen and the Alta Pain Physicians facility.

Dr. Chen takes the time needed to hear all and any concerns you might have. When doing procedures he is very caring and helps so much with pain control during the procedures abs is the best Dr. That I have ever had and I've been to a lot.

Caring and understanding doctors and staff
I have had nothing but good experiences with all the doctors there and nurses .they take time to listen to what your concerns are and answers your questions clearly and they work with you on your schedule and follow up visits .very friendly staff I would recommend them to anyone needing a pain specialist

More than I expected
He answered my questions thoroughly even though I didn't really know what to ask. The procedure was pretty painless and it worked. I did try to call the doctor the following week and the clinic redirected me to Stellate even though my questions were for the doctor.

I’ve given reviews several times already but I’m always happy to give them as many reviews as I’m asked, for each appointment. Just cannot say enough good about how fantasying Dr Chen and Shane Green are as a pain care team! I’ve been to other pain mgt doctors (U of U pain mgt ctr) and the experience was just truly awful!! They talked down to me and were dismissive and didn’t believe I was in severe pain from my disability (interstitial cystitis) or in my back and neck chronic pain from a car accident injury even though I had MRIs showing the damage and records of my chiropractic care and many ablation sessions. Dr Chen and Shane are 100% concerned about your pain and so kind and personable and just truly care and have been THE best pain doctors I’ve ever worked with. Highly recommend everyone try them before any other clinic! You won’t be disappointed. Just totally awesome and treat you so well. 5 stars. A+. 100% They possess every quality you’d want in a pain mgt team! Love Alta Pain

They have always been there for me and listen
I have been with Dr. Chen now going on almost 12 yes. And I have done everything I can to help with pain management. From getting my testicles chopped to getting the nerves ripped out to where I can never have kids again. Not from him but others and to the point where I spent 800$ on a female that claimed she was a doctor in medicines to where I was violated bad and had to pay cash to her and she made it worse. Dr. Chen has Lay's been there for me and never has pressured me into anymedicine or therapy he has suggested but notpro.ised a positive outcome because everyone is different. He has listened to me to help me. I dint like doctors or dentist buy the ones that know my situation.
