Dr Good "brought me back to life"
I had all but given up hope that I could recover my very busy lifestyle and was sinking into depression. I found Dr Good via the internet and he "brought me back to life". I am able to return to work and live virtually pain-free again.

Kind and Caring
Dr. Good and his entire staff have all been an amazing team to work with for my 3rd spinal fusion. I didn't want to have to have a 3rd fusion (2 others were not with Dr. Good) but the 2nd one had failed and he took excellent care of me. From my first call and getting in a same day appointment to my 3 month post op appointment. His kind and caring personality shows why he chose to be a doctor. I have been with a lot of doctors in the past and no one has treated me with such good care as him and his team. If anyone was in need of spine help I would highly recommend his office!! I am moving in a positive direction with my spine, my pain has subsided and hopefully this will have been my last spinal surgery!

Excellent, compassionate care
Dr. Good took time to explain in language that I could understand my diagnosis, treatment options, and long term prognosis. Surgery was not the first option we explored, although I did end up needing it. After a successful recovery, I am hopeful that I have many years ahead that will be pain free and active.

Dr. Good has changed my life!
am still a work in progress, but after having 3 other physicians tell me that pain management was my only option, Dr. Good gave me hope and gave me my life back! I cannot thank him enough!

Dr. Good is incredible!
From the first visit I knew I had chosen the right surgeon to correct the issues with my back. Dr. Good carefully guided me through the process and tried several strategies that didn't involve surgery. After careful consideration, I decided, based on the evidence, that surgery was my best option to address the degeneration in my back. The surgery was a complete success and I'm now completely pain free! Thank you, Dr. Good, for restoring my quality of life. I highly recommend you and the Virginia Spine Institute for future patients!

Dr. Good is a caring doctor and excellent surgeon.
Dr Good is an excellent spine surgeon that has great bedside manner. He has spent significant time analyzing my condition to determine different paths to improvement. I always know what the next steps will be. I feel that he is honest about my progress and genuinely cares about making me better and pain free.

I literally could not ask for a better outcome!
Dr. Good is the epitome of professional. He is extremely knowledgeable is great at explaining himself in layman's terms. The PAs, Ian and Mary, were equally fantastic. The MAs, Kristen and Lilly, were both great at answering my logistical questions and making sure I knew what my next step was outside of the office. Overall, everyone here listens extremely well, and their high quality of service is a reflection of that fact.

He saved my life and gave me back some of what i lost
Dr Good has been amazing over the many years that i have seen him. He listens and takes his time and follows through. He didnt ever rush or put me into surgery with no prior treatments, instead he went through the appropriate steps to be sure surgery was right for me. He made me a believer again in doctors and their love for their patients positive outcomes.
He fused me from L3-L5 throughout the years and even though i need to take it easier then before im no longer in pain and im able to be the mom i want to be. Im able to be the wife and friend i need to be. Dr. Good changed my life in the most positive way. He is a miracle worker.

Dr. Good is the best!
I just had my 2-year post back surgery follow-up visit. S2-T12 was reconstructed including five new discs. After 35 years of pain, I am pain-free and have essentially no movement and lifestyle limitations. Dr. Good and his team were professional, communicative, caring and plain wonderful. I would recommend them for anyone having serious back issues.

Incredible!
I have been with Dr. Good for years, and he has always provided sound judgement and guidance. Two years ago, we decided to pursue a Stem Cell procedure and it was the best decision we could have made. Proceeding that, he was always attentive and provided direction that substantially helped decrease my back pain. I recommend him to everyone I know that experiences back pain.

Amazing care!
I received amazing care from Dr. Good and his entire staff. Every single person who was in contact with me treated me with care and respect. Dr. Good and his PA's show great attentiveness with their care and are very responsive to questions or needs. I was suffering with back pain to the extent that it interfered with all my activities of daily living. I am now 3 months post op spinal fusion and feel so good! I'm getting back to my life again! I am so grateful to Dr. Good and his entire staff for all the amazing care they have provided to me.

I had a double fusion 8 years ago that was 1000% successful. Last fall I had emergency neck surgery and then another double fusion. Just got cleared on all, ready to live my life again!

The attention to care and concern for patient well being and comfort throughout the entire process, from initial diagnosis through surgery and rehabilitation has been top notch.

Dr Goods knowledge and surgical talents are remarkable, only to be outdone by an exceptional bedside manner.
Having endured several serious medical challenges in my life time, this experience has been the most positive medical experience i have been exposed to thus far.

Wonderful!
Dr. Good and his staff have been great. I was hesitant to get the surgery I needed, but Dr. Good was positive and assured me that I would be able to resume my normal activities following surgery. After receiving surgery, I have felt better than I ever had, and I cannot thank him and his staff enough for working with me to achieve a pain free lifestyle. They have all been great!

Exceptional Individualized Care
At 9 weeks post op i'm having less pain than I had for 3 years. The decision to move forward with surgery was the best I've ever made. I have my quality of life back and its only continuing to improve day after day. I'm so thankful for Dr. Good, the compassion and care I received while undergoing an L4-5, L5-S1 fusion. I'd highly recommend him to anyone struggling with similar issues.

The best treatment I have ever had.
Dr.Good took the time to listen to my issues, provide guidance and support. Before seeing Dr. Good I was stricken with severe back pain that kept me up at night and affected my every day activities. To my surprise, he recommended stem cell therapy rather than surgery and I am so incredibly thankful. Three months after my procedure I am pain free and starting to exercise again. Thanks to Dr. Good. I have my quality of live back.

I have had my back (L6 to T2) fused twice (2012, 2014) and a disk replaced in my neck. His bedside manner fully complements his technical skills. In 2012, I had 2 practices tell me there was nothing they could do to help. I have degenerative disk/joint disease and have had both shoulders (2014, 2015) replaced successfully by a Doctor recommended by him. Recently I had my right hip replaced and the left scheduled for April. I have seen many practices, and as a whole, VSI has been the best from the top down and truly shows sincere interest by the time given to their patients. My condition would have left me paralyzed and possibly dead by now. I had thyroid cancer in the middle of this journey. I've always felt cared for.

Dr. Good and his staff are 100% committed to my health and well being.
I met Dr. Good 10 years ago when my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis. When I experienced neck and back issues of my own, I knew it was time to see him. Four months ago, my pain was beyond what I could bear. After the surgery and the fusion of 7 levels, I can say that I have truly progressed and now exceeding my own expectations of recovery. Dr. Good has an amazing gift and I have so much trust and faith in his ability.

Dr. Good is the best orthopedic spinal surgeon I have met in my sports medicine career.
Great Experience. Took all the time needed to sort through a multiyear problem that involved the hip and low back and was able to very accurately get to the root of the problem. Surgery has been 100% successful and I highly recommend his services.

I have my back BACK!!
Dr. Good was the first doctor I saw that accurately diagnosed my herniation - and from the minute I saw him he was completely right on every statement he made. When I first came in he gave me the option for a discectomy or fusion - and for personal reasons I chose the 'bandaid'. He told me it would totally give out likely in a year - and almost to a month of a year - it gave out. Just getting through fusion and after 3 months - my back is better!!!
His knowledge and bedside manner are just awesome. He is kind and honest - but not condescending (like most docs). Whenever someone tells me they have back problems - I immediately send them to VA Spine website and insist they see Dr. Good. My best decision was to come here and see him - so thank you soooo much Dr. Good - you rock!!

Could not be more satisfied
I came here with back/nerve issues that had negatively impacted my life. Standing and walking were becoming problematic. Dr Good and this entire staff at VSI walked me through the diagnosis and the game plan to get me back on track. This whole process has been a huge win for me - from the actual surgery / short hospital stay to clinic visits to coordinating with insurance...the whole package!

Amazing
My life is 100% better. I saw a number of doctors before coming to VSI. I found Dr. Good to be a league above others, not only in my outcome, but also in his approach to patient care. I never felt out of the loop, and I always understood my options. He provided me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I have absolute confidence in Dr. Good and his skills. I could not recommend Dr. Good with more confidence.

Working with the group of professionals has been truly rewarding.
Dr Goode and his staff are honest, truthful, respectful, innovative and hard working. They set the bar high and the results have been great. They treat their patients as people who need help and are not afraid to roll their sleeves up, pitch in and get it done. It has been a long recovery for me at my age and I was given the options and support needed. It has all been worth it. They have certainly gained my trust.

Absolute best Surgeon and staff you could possibly hope for!
Dr. Good diagnosed my condition during my first visit. I had seen other doctors and surgeons who had misdiagnosed me even after numerous MRIs. They all recommended pain management which provided no relief. I'm so grateful for Dr. Good and his highly trained staff. My surgery was successful and I'm enjoying a pain free life.

Outstanding Experience
I was referred to Dr. Good for increased neck and back problems that I have had for most of my adult life. He listened and provided options with a conservative approach to finding relief for my pain. The patience & understanding that was shown to me was so important, as dealing with serious neck problems can be daunting. I would leave my appointments feeling optimistic about my path forward and options for being able to continue to live my life/participate in my activities without limits due to my neck pain.

Dr Good created a trusting relationship with my family and me.

Outstanding service
Dr. Good has been a life saver. He is an outstanding doctor and human being. He takes time to listen and explain things to you in a simple manner. I had a spinal fusion, 4 discs, and the pain was unbearable, after surgery my life has changed. Now I can stand, walk, sit and lay down without pain.
The staff also provides excellent service, they are all very professional and caring.
