Dr. Payne experience was quickly used to identify the problems with my right shoulder which had previously been operated on.
The x-rays were taken quickly and I saw Dr. paying within five minutes of completing the x-rays

I walked in with my right knee on fire, and left feeling much better!
I walked in with my arthritic right knee lit up like a Christmas tree and hurting terribly. I was in significantly less pain when I left and then 24 hours later I am pain-free! Dr. Payne is a AAA Blue Ribbon Doc that knows knees!

Reception area well organized. Everything was in order for my visit. Was called to an examination room at the exact time of my scheduled appointment. Assistants were very friendly and helpful. After visit follow up to schedule my surgery was prompt. Cat was very knowledgeable and efficient.
Wish you would ask me about the Chesapeake office. My responses would be completely different.

Very pleasant, straight to the issue, explained the X-rays what he saw, options given, and my choice,
Great. He abruptly left knowing it was my very first visit to Sentara, (have no primary dr, new to civilian hospital) and I did not know where to go, so I stuck my head into a room with open door to ask, and they told me ok to just leave,,, so I saw and followed the exit signs passing by billing. Turned and Stopped. Nice signs for direction, thanks so very much!! With people walking in as I was leaving I could have walked passed billing though and out the door.

Highly recommend Dr Payne for any required knee diagnosis/consultations/surgeries.
Visit for was my 3-year follow-up checkup for total knee replacement. This was my first time seeing Dr. Payne as my previous doctor at Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists had retired. Dr. Payne was very thorough in my review/examination.

Excellent care
Dr Payne is an excellent physician and he has taken care of me for several years. Dr Payne did my first hip implant surgery and improved my life and no more pain and able to walk normally Dr Payne is now treating me for arthritis in my right knee and explained the X-rays,treatment,and medication and to call him if I had any questions or additional pain Dr Payne is an excellent physician and I feel much better about my diagnosis and treatment plan Thank you Dr Payne
