My experience with Dr. Guttmann was excellent.
Dr. Guttmann has taken the time to thoroughly explain to me what he had to do to fix my shoulder. He did this verbally and visually with videos and pictures. He has sufficiently cautioned me as to how long it is going to take to heal and be fully functional.

Exceptional Outcome
Dr. Guttman provided clear guidance and descriptions of options and range of outcomes through every step of my shoulder replacement. He made me feel informed and comfortable. Dr Guttmann did extensive surgical repair of my R shoulder.
Dr Guttman was excellent, he took time to answer all questions both before and after surgery. He also gave a detailed explanation of all surgical repairs he performed. I visited several orthopedists prior to surgery and felt Dr Guttmann was very competent and selected him to do my surgery.

Fantastic doctor; practice needs modernization
Dr Guttman and his team have taken care of me after a multi-part fracture of the proximal humerus. I appreciate that he gave my body the opportunity to heal itself rather than pursuing surgery when the treatment could have gone either way. This means even more considering that he is highly regarded as a skilled surgeon. He has always talked straight and been open to questions. I also appreciate his openness to my getting a second opinion. Our small, poor town is fortunate to have such a practitioner.
One small complaint: it took a long time to get to the point where he definitively said we would not do surgery--nearly four weeks, which seems too long; had we wanted to operate, it would have been better to do so sooner, from what I understand.
One suggestion: in this area, being able to see X-rays over time is enormously helpful. They really ought to invest in monitors or computers, whatever it takes, to be able to look at the x-rays together in the exam rooms; a cellphone isn't enoug

Excellent care, expertise, and bedside manner
Dr. Guttman has such excellent expertise for injuries, I had a torn rotator cuff. He was not pushing for surgery and instead recommended a stem injection followed with PT. His recommendations were so accurate and I like that he did not push for surgery. He has a wonderful bedside manner, caring, clear with the technical information as to the injury and treatment, and always made time for questions. I highly highly recommend him! I will be back if I ever get injured again. Thank you Dr. Guttman and Taos Orthopedics. I am excited to be able to engage in my sports fully again, eventually, thanks to you. Amy

Dr, Guttman is THE BEST!!!
I postponed my surgery until I was basically unable to do anything, including driving. Dr. Guttman didn't push me, he waited until I was ready for surgery. I am so glad I did. Only 4 1/2 months later I have more range of motion than I have in almost 4 years.
