I received relief from severe back pain within hours of my first visit. Within a few days, my active life was back to normal --all without surgery. Hopefully, there will be no future occurrence, but if so, I would quickly seek out Dr. Haines.

True care and concern with every conversation.
Every single person on this team is not only kind but willing to listen and help with anything they can do in their power. Dr Haines himself is a true professional and cares more about the overall wellness of his patients which is evident with each and every conversation he has. Overall if I had to do it all over again, I couldn't think of a single other place i would go.

Careful attention to issues and resolution
Dr. Haines is both compassionate and talented. He actually cared about how much pain I was in and how it impacted me as a mom of young children. He worked with me to pinpoint the diagnosis and try non-surgical treatments, and when that did not work he delivered on the surgery, which immediately resolved my pain. He is very good at explaining what is happening with the spine and what the treatment will do.

Realistic medical care
Dr. Haines has been amazing every step of the way with trying all possible non-surgical treatments before letting me decide if I wanted surgery. No pressure form him on what i should do next, it was nice to have options and pick my own adventure for my treatment plan. Every silly question or ache / pain he and his staff were there to help me understand what I was going through and how we as a team could work through it. Dr. Haines has been more than just another doctor he personally cares about each of his patients and goes above and beyond.

Excellent!
My experience with Dr. Haines, and VSI overall, has been amazing. A far cry from my previous surgery experience with other offices where the doctors and staff treated me more as a burden and showed very little willingness or want to help. Dr. Haines and his VSI team have shown compassion towards me and my condition with a focus on getting me back to living life to my fullest. Couldn't be happier!

I cannot say enough good/positive about Dr. Haines throughout the entire scary process.
Dr. Haines performed my surgery on short notice pich-hitting for Dr. Jaazini who did my initial diagnosis. Dr. Haines has been absolutely incredible throughout the process. I was suffering excruciating pain and unknown to me potentially significant nerve damage. His calm, friendly demeanor and superlative communication skills before, during and after the surgery and follow-up appointments instill confidence and helped ground my recovery expectations and timelines and made the process much more tolerable. He always spends as much time as needed as I would ask questions, and he and the staff at VSI always follow up on details.

Dr. Haines is truly the best doctor I have ever had in my life, and he has fixed problems that I never thought were fixable in the first place.
Dr. Haines is the most thoughtful and personal doctor I have ever met in my life. 8 months ago I was in the most pain I have ever experience, and he came up with a concrete plan to get rid of that pain. Although I did not know what was going to happen, I am happy to say that at 8 months post op I am doing extremely well and finally getting back into the activities that I love to do. Dr. Haines has really changed my life, and I could not be more grateful.

Excellent. Highly recommended
After six years of living with pain subsequent to a previous spine surgery, and after consulting with multiple other surgeons about my pain to no avail, I found Dr Haines and I am so thankful. He was able to accurately diagnose my problem and was graciously willing to provide corrective surgery. I believe he was an answer to prayer.

Awesome! Dr. Haines was very thorough in his evaluation.
I have a completely failed back with multiple surgeries. I have been seeing Dr. Haines for several years watching the degeneration closely. Last year my back indicated a real problem, Dr. Haines was methodical in his approach to make sure we did the right surgery to help me. He was informative every step of the way. Once he was sure of a plan we scheduled the surgery. I was hoping for 20% improvement, I got 80% improvement. My life has changed for the better because of his approach and his skill. Thrilled
So happy. Having surgery was not something I wanted and tried to push it off. However, in the end it was the best decision I could have made and I am thrilled with the outcome. Dr. Haines took care of me every step of the way and never rushed me or pushed me towards anything I didn't want to do (even though I asked a TON of questions).

My best decision made
From day one Dr Haines has worked with me to address spine related issues. Never felt pressurized into fast tracking decisions. Everything was explained and options presented clearly and simply. Excellent outcome of a very risky surgery
At my initial consult, Dr. Haines gave me hope that he could fix the severe spinal cord compression in my neck. Within a day after surgery most of the symptoms in my right arm were already better. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome of the surgery and the expertise of Dr. Haines as well as his team. I will highly recommend VA Spine Institute to anyone with spinal issues.

Dr, Haines is a great listener and has very clear answers to questions
Recommended to VA Spine by Dr. Peyton's office. I was diagnosed immediately with severe spinal stenosis. This is on j3/13, had emergency surgery on 3/17. They worked me into their schedule even with my blood disorder. Dr. Haines explained everything to me in advance of what would be done as well as when he was finished what he did. My experience has been exemplery.

A true gem of a surgeon!
Dr. Haines has performed 3 lumbar fusions on me and each time he listened carefully and helped walk me through my fear and anxiety related to back surgery. I never felt rushed to make a decision and I felt very much a part of the decision making process. There were no surprises after surgery and everything
went better than expected.
